Elena Muñoz Marrón is PhD in Applied Experimental Psychology from the Complutense University of Madrid (2004) and Master in Cognitive Neuropsychology from the same university.

Throughout her career she has combined research, teaching and clinical neuropsychology in a wide range of scientific and professional environments, such as specific research units, universities, general hospitals and brain damage rehabilitation centres.

She is currently Associate Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) in Spain, where she directs the Master in Neuropsychology. She also teaches on the master’s degree as well as on neuropsychology-related courses for other programmes.

She is director of the Cognitive NeuroLab research laboratory, and her research work is focused on the study of the neural bases of cognitive processes through non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, and on the use of these techniques as a therapeutic approach in the treatment of pathologies with brain dysfunction, such as acquired brain damage or neurodegenerative diseases.
